Luxe Souvenirs: Louis Vuitton Luggage Tags

Do you always purchase souvenirs when you are away? Do you get things for your family, friends, yourself or all? When I am traveling sometimes I forget about grabbing a souvenir and say my memory is the souvenir lol.

One day while laying on my back scrolling through Instagram I saw a Louis Vuitton luggage tag that comes with their luggages. There was a limited metallic SoHo design that had the NYC skyline on the luggage tag. I thought this was the cutest thing I have ever seen especially as a New York native who also enjoy luxury items. I quickly contacted my local SA and was sadly informed that it was already discontinued.

Upon researching to see if there was anyone reselling theirs I learned that come other cities had a stamp of their own. Not every city, but some. It is not known when and where will get a city stamp they just seem to happen randomly. Now when I travel I always take a luggage tag and visit a Louis Vuitton store just to see if they may have one. Some locations have permanent stamps like Hawaii and Sydney, Australia, while others are only temporary.

Each tag retails for between $60-$70 and the hot stamping is free. Every store does not sell tags and you have own luggage to get the luggage tag. Previously some store had tags on hand for sale without owning luggage. That stopped this year. You can still get lucky at some stores.

There are collectors who try to collect every stamp from every location (some locations have more than one option like New Zealand) by purchasing from others who may live or visit the city the stamp is in. I choose to only collect hot stamps from locations I have visited. It's like my own little memory souvenir. There is not always a hot stamp when I arrive, so I will trade one of my stamps or have someone who is in the location purchase for me.

Take a look at a few of my tags! There are still cities that I have visited and still need, like Berlin and Dallas.

London didn't have a hot stamp when I visited so I had to trade my NY stamp with someone

There is a whole community community of Louis Vuitton lovers like myself and I have gained new friends. Everyone is sweet and we all help each other establish our personal collections!

The hunt for these tags also make my traveling fun!
